Fletcher 1910-1919

James and Albert return to employment after a client defaults on payment of a contract and wipes out their capital.

In 1911, they start trading again and win the contract to build the St Kilda Coronation Hall for £1,625/18/00.

James's brother, William, arrives from Scotland and becomes a partner in Fletcher and Morris. James marries Charlotte Cameron.

Fletcher Brothers is established in 1912 after Albert Morris is unnerved by a £9,120 contract to build an accommodation wing and chapel at Knox College, and leaves Fletcher and Morris.

The Knox College work is completed successfully – in large part due to the innovative use of an electric winch - and Fletcher Brothers is transformed from house builder to commercial builder.
