Noble family

Alec Noble, a post-war immigrant from Scotland, started work at Fletcher Construction in 1951. Son Hamish joined Fletcher Construction as a carpentery and joinery apprentice in 1968. Alec retired after 30 years in 1981. Hamish is still with Fletcher, into his forty second year with the company, as Manager, Auckland Interiors.

Muir family

George Muir worked for Fletcher for 30 years, managing projects in Wellington and around the South Pacific. Son Aaron joined us in 1999 at the age of 23 on a cadetship and has been project manager for the 16 story Maritime tower and the new BNZ business operations building at CentrePort.

Craig family

Jack Craig was the third generation of the Craig family to join Fletcher. His grandfather, and his father Joe, both joined in 1928. While Mr Craig Snr only stayed with the company for a few years, son Joe completed his carpentery apprenticeship at Fletcher and stayed on to finish his career in the mid 1970s as chairman of Fletcher Construction. Jack, a civil engineer, enjoyed a distinguished career of his own in the company, retiring after 35 years.
